Atletico Madrid duo Diego Costa and Santiago Arias test positive for COVID-19
The tests were held at the Wanda Atlético de Madrid Training Complex
Spain club Atletico Madrid have confirmed that striker Diego Costa and right-back Santiago Arias have tested positive for coronavirus.
The club conducted tests on Thursday ahead of the upcoming season of La Liga and found two players testing positive. The whole team has been tested except for players in national duty.
The team even said that Costa and Arias didn’t show any symptoms but are currently isolating themselves at home. They are following all the protocols and guidelines as per La Liga.
Hence, the duo will not train from September 4 but are expected to start training once the quartine period is over.
The Spanish striker made 23 LaLiga appearances and found the net five times while Arias made 14 appearances for the club this season.
