As per the latest ICC rankings, Australia is the new number 1 ranked Test and T20I side (men). Australia goes past India to claim the top spot in the Test rankings with 116 points. Since October 2016, India was the number 1 Test side. However, India now finds itself third with 114 rating points.
With 278 points, Australia also became the number 1 side in the shortest format of the game. This is for the first time that Australia is ranked no.1 since the rankings came out in 2011. At the top since January 2018 was Pakistan. However, they have now dropped three places to fourth with 260 points.
The updated rankings are based on the matches played from the beginning of the 2018 season. New Zealand take the second spot with 115 points in the Test rankings. Interestingly, however, India is still at the top of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship table. Seeing the biggest fall in the latest rankings is South Africa. The proteas are out of the sixth spot having lost as many as 8 of their previous 9 Tests, since February 2019.
As fas as the ODI rankings are concerned, England is at the top with 127 points. Claiming the second spot is India, 8 points behind England in the rankings. The top ten ranked teams still remain unchanged in the One Day format.
England also takes the second spot in the T20I rankings with 268 points. Following at the third spot, just two points behind England, is India in the T20I rankings.
