Australian pacer Mitch Claydon suspended for applying hand sanitizer on the ball
This incident took place last month while Sussex played against Middlesex
Mitch Claydon has been suspended for applying Hand Sanitizer on the ball to shine it and he took three wickets when he was playing for Sussex against Middlesex last month.
Applying Saliva on the ball was banned due to the crisis of Covid-19 so Mitch Claydon applied Hand Sanitizer on the ball to shine it, this act was also not permissible in England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
“Mitch Claydon is suspended pending the outcome of an ECB allegation of placing hand sanitiser on the ball in our match against Middlesex. There will be no further comment at this stage,” Sussex said in an official statement.
