After the packed up domestic schedule, these Europe giants are facing off each other in the midweek’s Champions League drama. The German force will look for redemption of the first leg, where the Italian defence will be relying on their counter moves. It has been a dream start to the season for Borussia Dortmund. The Black and Yellows were facing a crisis at the end of last month, but now have a great opportunity of not only pulling ahead in the Bundesliga but also move one step closer to secure their place to the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
On the other hand, Inter Milan had a difficult time since their 2-0 advantage against Borussia Dortmund. Milan was held by Parma in the following game and are entering into the Champions League on the back of two narrow wins over Brescia and Bologna respectively.
Dortmund Borussia: Borussia received a massive blow when their star card Marco Reus picked up a fresh injury. There has been no concrete information over the severity of that injury, but he is sure to miss the Champions League game against Inter Milan. The club captain will likely be replaced by the World Cup super sub-Mario Gotze. Jadon Sancho is likely to receive a breather. Mats Hummels might settle for a place on \the bench too, giving the way for Dan-Axel Zagadou to make a rare first-team appearance tonight.
Inter Milan: Conte made a tuft of changes to the side that secured a 2-1 win over Bologna last weekend. The Italian is expected to revert those changes except the goalkeeper Samir Handanovic and the two defenders, Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar. Diego Godin is expected back in the lineup. There might be changes in the wing-back department as well from the last time. Antonio Candreva and Kwadwo Asamoah may return into the lineup. Alexis Sanchez is still out due to injury, so it only leaves Inter Milan with few options.
Borussia Dortmund (4-2-3-1): Hitz; Piszczek, Akanji, Zagadou, Hakimi; Witsel, Delaney; Hazard, Gotze, Brandt; Alcacer.
Inter Milan (3-5-2): Handanovic; Godin, de Vrij, Skriniar; Candreva, Gagliardini, Brozovic, Barella, Asamoah; Lukaku, Martinez.
