India win final T20I to seal series win

India took on Bangladesh in the final T20I at Nagpur. Bangladesh won the first game at Delhi. India went on to win the next game at Rajkot to level the series.  

Shreyas, Rahul lead the charge for India

India posted an impressive total of 174/5 batting first on a difficult wicket. Pacer Shafiul Islam gave Bangladesh the perfect start. He sent both the Indian openers back inside the first six overs. However, Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship in the middle. Rahul showed his class through his flamboyant shots. His knock of 52 off just 35 balls included 7 fours. But it was Shreyas Iyer who stole the show with the bat. Iyer slammed his maiden T20I fifty. In an attacking innings, he smashed 3 fours and 5 massive sixes to give India the momentum. Furthermore, Manish Pandey provided the required finish. He remained unbeaten on 22 off just 13 deliveries ensuring India crossed the 170 run mark. 

Rahul

Despite Indian openers getting out soon, India posted a formidable total. Kl Rahul and Shreyas Iyer stitched a 59-run stand to rebuild this innings. Shreyas was dropped on 0. However, he utilized the opportunity to the best. On the other hand, it proved very costly for Bangladesh. 

Deepak shines as  Naim’s heroics go in vain

Deepak Chahar removed Liton Das (9) and Soumya Sarkar (0) early upfront. This pushed Bangladesh on the back foot straight away. However, Bangladesh wasn’t going to give up easily. Young Mohammad Naim and Mohammad Mithun staged a comeback with a 98-run stand. Bangladesh seemed to be running away with the game. But India struck back with 2 quick wickets in the form of Mithun and Mushfiqur Rahim. Naim kept Bangladesh in the hunt with a swashbuckling 81 under pressure. His knock came off just 48 balls including 10 fours and 2 sixes. However, Shivam Dube got the better of Naim in the 17th over. As a result, Bangladesh collapsed to 126/6. They slid furthermore and were eventually bundled out for 144 in 19.2 overs. Deepak Chahar picked up a hat-trick. He also ended with an impressive 6 wicket haul (6/7 in 3.2 overs). These are the best figures in T20I’s. Shivam Dube also chipped in with 3 wickets.

India won the game by 30 runs. With this win, India also goes on to win the series 2-1. It has been a comprehensive performance from India to come back and win the series.
