ISL 2020-21: SWOT Analysis of Jamshedpur FC

Jamshedpur FC will have to toil hard to book themselves a berth in the playoffs in ISL 2020/21 which will be held at Goa.

The Red Miners

After dodging the rock-bottom position on the points table, Jamshedpur FC will look for better performance in 2020/21. The club has brought in few renowned and fresh faces ahead of the season that is going to be held at Goa.

Since its inception, Jamshedpur FC has given more importance to the development of football at the grass-root level. The club is heading towards the fourth season and is yet to qualify for the play-offs.

To fulfil their dreams, the club has appointed Owen Coyle, former Chennaiyin FC manager, as their gaffer. Can Jamshedpur FC go all the way in 2020/21?

Strengths

The strength of Jamshedpur FC lies in their foreign recruits. They have addressed the loss of Tiri by bringing in Nerijus Valskis and Peter Hartley. Also, the club has signed Alex for the central midfielder role. The signing of a proven manager like Owen Coyle is a boost for Jamshedpur FC.

Weaknesses

The club lost their prominent goalkeeper, Subrata Paul, to Hyderabad FC during the transfer window. Though the club has acquired the services of TP Reheneesh, he struggled to find his form in the last edition. Also, the absence of Tiri at the central defence can cause challenges for the team.

Opportunities

The club signed Jackichand Singh at the end of the previous season which is highly appreciated by the Indian fans. The player will have an opportunity to challenge Udanta Singh for the right-winger position for the national colours with his consistent performances.

Threats

As the pandemic has struck the entire country, the team will miss the passionate fans of the club. It can affect the players’ energy level on the pitch. Also, the manager owned very little time to work with his contingent in the bio-bubble.
