Jermaine Blackwood is a Jamaican cricketer who is well-known as the aggressive lower-middle order batsman of West Indies. Blackwood and all-rounder Ramaal Lewis are to be a part of the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) after the withdrawal of two players.
The West Indian batsman, Jermaine Blackwood, has signed a deal with Jamaica Tallawahs beforehand for the forthcoming tournament, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The Jamaican pair, Jeavor Royal and Andre McCarthy have been tested positive of COVID-19 as they came into contact with another Jamaican cricketer, and will no longer be a part of the team. The cricketers have already been tested negative once, but according to the protocol they should be tested negative twice to be a part of the squad.
It has been reported that the player has been tested positive and had been training under the supervision of Head Coach, Andre Coley.
The cricketers have withdrawn from the squad just before they were about to depart for Trinidad and Tobago for the Caribbean league.
The Eighth Season of the Caribbean Premier League is to begin from August 19 in Trinidad and Tobago. All the matches will take place behind closed doors in a bio-secure environment. All the people involved in the tournament will have to follow the protocols.
The players and staff members that will be taking part in the tournament will have to undergo a full quarantine period of 14 days once they reach in the country.
In Tarouba, the Brian Lara Cricket Academy will host 23 games and the remaining ten matches will be played at the Queen Park’s Oval in Trinidad.
The semi-final and final will also be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy
