Joe Denly ruled out of Royal London Series

The player sustained an injury during training sessions; Livingstone to join the squad

50 for Joe Denly

Joseph Liam Denly (called as Joe Denly) will not play against Ireland in the Royal London series due to back spasms which he sustained during the training sessions, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Friday. He wasn’t selected for the first ODI against Ireland on Thursday and was kept under observation. The English batsman will be replaced by Liam Livingstone in the squad.

Joe Denly and Liam Livingstone play for Kent and Lancashire in first-class cricket. Liam Livingstone if selected would be making his debut in Hampshire Bowl. The three-match ODI series is held behind close doors in a bio-secure environment at the Hampshire Bowl due to COVID-19.  England is leading the Royal London series after securing a win in the first match by six wickets.
