Liverpool Vs Watford Match Preview

Premier League leaders Liverpool will host Watford at Anfield on Saturday as Jurgen Klopp will hope to pull away and stretch the gap from chasers Leicester City and Manchester City.

The Reds are on an incredible streak and are unbeaten in 16 games so far in England’s top-flight winning 15 of them and drawing one against fierce rivals Manchester United but Klopp has a few issues with injuries ahead of the game against a club with no manager.

Croatian center back Dejan Lovren is absent for Liverpool after limping off early for the second match in a row against Salzburg in the midweek Champions League encounter. English defender Joe Gomez is likely to get the nod to partner Virgil Van Dijk in the heart of defense as Joel Matip and Fabinho remain sidelined through injury.

Changes are likely to be introduced by Klopp after Liverpool’s midweek match amid a congested run of fixtures in December, with Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner pushing for a starting berth with impressive performances. Even English midfielder Adam Lallana may return to action on the bench after missing two matches in a row.

The visitors also have a few injury problems of their own as the Hornets will be without Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverley, Sebastian Prodl and Jose Holebas. Daryl Janmaat is in contention to start at Anfield after recovering from a knee problem and Craig Dawson is also back in the mix.

The game will feature two teams at the extreme opposite poles and fortunes on the Premier League table but football has proven to be anything but be predictable in the past. However, with Liverpool pushing for their first Premier League title in three decades, it could well be the season for the Merseyside giants which ends their drought for the elusive trophy to bring back to Anfield.

Predicted Liverpool Starting Line Up- Alisson, Alexander Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Salah, Firmino, Mane.
