Mahrez and Laporte test positive for COVID-19

Premier League side Manchester City have confirmed that Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte have tested positive for COVID-19. Both the players were asymptomatic and will currently self-isolate themselves as per the guidelines.

“Everyone at the Club wishes Riyad and Aymeric a speedy recovery ahead of their return to training and the new season”, a club statement read.

The Premier League is all set to commence on September 12 with Arsenal playing against Fulham during the first game. Man City will be playing their first game against Wolves on 22nd September. They’ll be hoping that both the players recover soon and will be available for the match.
