All the 4 Premier League clubs forged positive results against their respective rivals over the last 2 days.
Champions League | Group B
Tottenham got their first win in the Champions League with a 5-0 thumping against Serbian side Crvena Zvezda. Harry Kane and Hueng-Min Son scored two goals each and Erik Lamela grabbed the 5th goal for Spurs. Lamela and New signing Tanguy Ndombele helped themselves with 2 assist as well. A very convincing result given their circumstances in the premier league. They moved to the second position in group B, 5 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Champions League | Group C
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City came from a goal behind and ran out 5-1 winners against Atlanta. Ruslan Malinowskiy scored from the spot after being fouled by Fernandinho to put Atlanta in front. 2 goals from Sergio Aguero ensured Manchester City were on top before the HT. New signing Rodri got injured as Jon Stones made his much-awaited return to the team. A second-half hat-trick from Raheem Sterling made sure that Manchester City sits comfortably on top of Group C with a healthy goal difference as well.
Champions League | Group H
Chelsea got a narrow win and kept an impressive away clean sheet as they won 1-0 against Ajax. Substitutes Christian Pulisic and Batshuyai combined well for the only goal of the night as Frank Lampard extended the winning run to 6 games in all competitions.
Champions League | Group E
The big news for Liverpool was the return of Mo Salah to the starting lineup as they started with a very strong lineup against Belgian side Genk. Alex Oxalade-Chamberlain gave Liverpool a dream start and opened the scoring in the 2nd minute which as the only goal of the First Half. He doubled his tally with a wonderful team goal. Mane scored the third after some good vision from Salah, and the duo combined together for the fourth goal as Mane returned the favour with Salah scoring. Genk got a late consolation goal from Stephan Odey as the game finished 1-4. Liverpool sits on the second position after 3 games with Napoli on top of Group E.
That’s all from the Champions League, premier league clubs perspective. We will make another post after the Europa League fixtures are done.
