As the jam packed English Test Series summer is on, its time for some ODI to come into picture as the England Cricket team are all set to host Ireland in 3 match ODI series starting from today.
The England vs Ireland ODI series will be the inaugural series in the ICC World Cup Super League tournament.
The current ICC World Champions are returning into the Odi picture after a long gap as they are set to host their neighbouring country Ireland in a three match series.
With Eoin Morgan as captain and as well as two destructive limited overs batsman Jason Roy and Johnny Baristow making their way back in the side, they are going to be playing the series without their marquee players Ben Stokes ,Jos Buttler, Joe Root, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood. Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid will be their front line spinners and as well as with David Willey returning to the side their pace attack will be even more stronger.
All eyes will be on Tom Banton and Saqib Mahmood as the two players look very promising and Morgan would surely be looking forward towards their performances.
England will be hoping to give the same kind of performance as they gave in the World Cup.
Ireland will be looking forward to be in the spotlight playing against an experienced English side.
They will be playing without their best bowler Mark Adair who was also their leading wicket taker in ODI last year. Andy Balbirinie, Paul Stirling and Kevin O’ Brien will be their crucial players in this series as well as the likes of batsmen Gareth Delany, Harry Tector and all rounder Curtis Campher will make the Ireland side even stronger. It also looks like that Campher and Tector would be handed their ODI debut caps in the first match.
Ireland have just won one ODI game against England in their history which was in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011
Pitch and Conditions
The warm up games held here for Ireland saw the ball coming perfectly to the bat so the pitch would be a good support for the Batsmen. Ireland Captain Andy Balbirine as well expects a little bit more grass on the pitch and the pacers too will be wanting some more assistance from the pitch during the match.
