Inter Milan win over Napoli 29 July

Inter Milan defeated SSC Napoli by 2-0 and moved back to second position in Serie A. Inter got early lead when Danilo D’Ambrosio scored goal from Cristiano Biraghi’s cut back just after 11 minutes of kickoff. Argentine Lautaro Martinez came off the bench to score an impressive solo goal and completed revenge for their Coppa Italia defeat by Gennaro Gattuso’s side. Coppa Italia winners Napoli, who are focusing on their Champions League last-16 second leg match at Barcelona on Aug 8.

Mohun Bagan Day wishes at NASDAQ on 29 July

Iconic Indian football club Mohun Bagan featured on NASDAQ billboards on special occasion of Mohun Bagan Day. Mohun Bagan becomes country’s first ever sports entity to feature on NASDAQ billboards. The NASDAQ Billboard in Times Square, New York City displayed Mohun Bagan contents all day. Club awarded Mohun Bagan Ratna to hockey legend Gurbux Singh and former Bengal cricketer Palash Nandy.

Why Mohun Bagan Day so special?

Club and Indian football fans celebrate Mohun Bagan Day on 29 July since 2001. It is tribute to their historic victory over East Yorkshire Regiment in the IFA Shield Final on this day in 1911. This victory was seen as a huge moment and gave hope to the people that the British could be defeated. It was the first time an Indian football club winning the prestigious IFA Shield trophy. Sports entity will always remember this day as barefoot team of Mohun Bagan defeated Englishmen at their own game even before freedom.

Yashdeep Siwach praised Manpreet Singh

Yashdeep Siwach is Indian junior men’s hockey team player who won two Sultan Johar Cup silver medals in 2018 and 2019. Siwach said that young midfielders in our country are fortunate to learn from the way captain Manpreet Singh plays his game. 19-year-old added that Manpreet Singh plays his role to perfection every time he is on the pitch. Siwach said that playing for the senior team is his biggest target at the moment.

China and Japan Open cancelled

Badminton World Federation cancelled Badminton’s prestigious China and Japan Open due to coronavirus pandemic. Badminton World Federation decided to cancel four September tournaments in Asia. These four tournament are the Taipei Open (September 1-6), the Korea Open (September 8-13), the China Open (September 15-20) and the Japan Open (September 22-27). Earlier one of Asia’s top tennis tournament the WTA Pan Pacific Open in Japan was cancelled for the first time.
