Stiaan van Zyl to miss Sussex’s 2020 season
South African cricketer David Wiese will also miss the Bob Willis Trophy
“With limited flights between South Africa and the UK, the country’s visa system down and a likely quarantine period necessary upon arrival, it was deemed sensible that van Zyl remained in Cape Town this summer,” the club said in a statement.
“While we will certainly miss the South African batsman, who scored two centuries for Sussex in 2019 and was our leading run-scorer in the County Championship, we look forward to welcoming him back to Hove next year,” the club’s statement added.
South African cricketer David Wiese will also miss the Bob Willis Trophy matches but is expected to join his squad for the T20 Blast. The schedule for the T20 Blast will be announced shortly.
