Yohan Blake wants to feature for KKR or RCB

Sprint legend Yohan Blake wishes to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Furthermore, he also wants to own a franchise in the cash rich league. 

Yohan Blake will take part in track and field events for another two years at least. After retiring however, he wants to play franchise cricket. He wants to feature for either the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) or the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Yohan Blake has achieved a number of accolades in track and field events across competitions. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has also been a major attraction for him. Yohan Blake, 29, also wishes to own a franchise in the lucrative tournament.

“I have two more years left in track and field and then its cricket for me. But, I do not wish to play for the West Indies. I would love to feature in franchise cricket; I would even love to own a franchise in India. And most importantly, play for either Kolkata Knight Riders or the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chris Gayle (fellow Jamaican) was there for a long time,” the Jamaican said during an interview.

Yohan Blake has won two silver in the 2012 London Olympics. He expressed his love for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise. It is mainly due to the presence of star batsmen Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. 

“I love the Bangalore team especially Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers,” Blake said.

Yohan Blake won the bronze medal in 100m in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. He won the gold medal at the 2011 World Championships. It made him the youngest 100m world champion ever. 

However, he is still to win an individual gold medal at the Olympics. 

The men from West Indies have always been an integral part of the IPL. Be it the likes of Gayle, Pollard, Russell etc. All of them have had a major impact on the league over the years.
